What makes Raghubir Yadav a star

Actor Raghubir Yadav has sheened his way to glory, irrespective of the roles that are offered to him. A2zoftrends spoke to the actor to understand what sets him apart from his contemporaries.

He has been in the industry for over 30 years but despite his tenure, he has remained humble and grounded. Thanks to the OTT releases, actor Raghubir Yadav has found his fame once again. He has reminded people that good acting is enough to make an actor successful.

But success hasn’t come easily for the Panchayat-actor. Despite being in the industry for so long, he still follows certain rituals. Among them is preparing for his on-screen role and studying his character carefully. This, he says, helps him perform better.

“I understand my role, its background and my relatability with it before getting into the shoes of the character. Observing people and their behaviour as well as responses help me a lot. This has been a way of life for me even when I had no intentions of being an actor. I am happy that my observations/learnings help me,” he says.

Apparently, he brushed up his observational skills while studying at the National School of Drama.

“My teachers taught me that it is important to have discipline while adapting to the character. I take inspiration from real-life experiences and observe people. I don’t smoke but for Chillum (my role in Salaam Bombay!), I sat with people who smoked cigarettes and charas so that I could observe their expressions and understand their experiences,” he recalls.

But despite his skills, the actor has from not been a part of several films as compared to his contemporaries. This, he says, is out of choice.

“I never go after money or fame. I only focus on doing good work,” he clarifies.

It is his hunger for challenging roles that makes him say yes to a role.

“One of the things that I look for in any role is the hard work that I need to put in as an actor. I prefer taking up roles that allow me to do homework. It makes my job more fun and entertaining,” he adds.

Though he has come a long way from Chacha Chaudhary to Pradhanpati, the actor feels that he is no hurry to hang his shoes.

“I am not done yet. I feel that there are plenty of things that I want to do in my career before I hang my shoes. At the moment, I am thankful to my fans for their love and recognition,” he shares.

The actor, who was last seen in the film Ghode Ko Jalebi Khilane Le Ja Riya Hoon, has his hands full. He will soon be seen in Panchayat Season 3, Manohar Pandey, Titu Ambani and Yatri.
